Much of Sheona’s work is originally created for specific contexts, sometimes for an individual, a church or a gallery. As well as offering digital reproductions of existing work, she continues to look for opportunities to respond to commissions, or to loan original pieces for particular occasions. If you are interested in either of these please contact Sheona, with your ideas/requests, taking into consideration the guidelines below.

commissioning/loaning

Commissioning or loaning work for a private celebration or a public event is a very rewarding experience for all involved. However, it is important that the respective parties are agreed on such practical details as expenses, deadlines, responsibilities etc. As a basic minimum, the following details need to be considered (churches not familiar with the commissioning process may also find the ChurchArt website helpful):

✦ a ‘match’ between Sheona’s style and the expectation/requirements of the client/occasion.

✦ the fee (to be agreed on at an early stage) – to include where applicable the cost of labour, expenses and the materials for the piece.

✦ a deadline which allows for set-up access and/or delivery.

✦ insurance: both long-term and short-term, as well as consideration of health and safety issues with the display and care of the artwork, particular if in a public venue.

✦ a copyright agreement whereby Sheona retains copyright for the artwork, though the client may have permission to reproduce it for their own publicity (excluding commerce).
