Winner of the Corner Art Prize 2001, Church on the Corner, Islington, London. The competition asked for visual or sculptural responses to the Gospel verses Matthew 6: 19-21. The work was subsequently shown in churches across the UK, including Bristol Cathedral, and at festivals such as Soul Survivor and New Wine.

The repetition in the first two verses only serves to draw an exact and unambiguous line between their differences – namely the contrast between heaven and earth. I find it interesting that Jesus did not think it necessary to expound this difference in theological terms or highly descriptive language (which too often become the distinguishing features of the church’s doctrines regarding heaven and earth) …
